Fanfare & Overture - Premiere

  • James Allen's Girls' School SE22 8TE UK (map)

Featuring the pure joie de vivre of George Gershwin’s ‘An American in Paris’ and the fiery drama of Arturo Marquez’s ‘Danzon no. 2’, this heart-pounding programme will also include the premiere of a new work by the band’s patron Stephen McNeff, a second performance of Christopher Hussey’s ‘Child of the wandering sea’ (with brand new choreography by Irene Fiordilino) and a rare UK performance of Nancy Galbraith’s ‘Danza de los Duendes’, continuing our pledge to highlight band music by women from around the world.

Following the success of our concert of music by women composers last November, we present an evening of pieces featuring live dance in the brilliant new Vaughan Williams Auditorium at JAGS in support of London Music Masters. Additional choreography by students of Musical Theatre Academy.
