Trumpet Concerto Premiere a 5***** success in Aalborg!

Jonathan Clarke (trumpet) and Antony Hermus (conductor) in the premiere of the Trumpet Concerto

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dazzling Richard Strauss and Jonathan Clarke in great form 🎺

This is the headline of Nordjyske's five-star review of the Thursday concert, which featured a world premiere of a brand new trumpet concerto.

It was written by Stephen McNeff for the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra and the orchestra's own solo trumpeter Jonathan Clarke.

The newspaper's reviewer Tore Mortensen writes:

"Clarke's role was consistently melodic, and his solo playing was characterized by an eminent sonic mastery of the instrument, which focused him as a natural center for the music. Only in the lavishly exuberant 3rd movement was Clarke presented with major technical challenges, which he solved without any problems".
